DAY 1 SYDNEY TO HUSKISSON (181KMS / 3HOURS)
On leaving Sydney, travel to picturesque Berry, stopping along the way to sample the local vineyards including Camberwarra Estate, The Silos Estate at Jasper’s Brush and Coolangatta Estate. Berry is also renowned for its arts, crafts, galleries, cafes and antique stores. Head for Huskisson and enjoy fish and chips on the wharf, take a stroll on Hyams Beach which boasts the whitest sand in the world or cast your fishing line at the nearby fishing ‘Mecca’ Sussex Inlet. Other attractions include the Australian Naval Aviation Museum in Nowra, the Museum of Jervis Bay Science and the Sea, and the Lady Denman Museum. Overnight Huskisson

DAY 2 HUSKISSON TO MORUYA ( 134KMS / 1 HOUR 30 MINS)
Be sure to view Laddie Timbery’s Aboriginal Arts and Crafts Centre, and the art galleries and antique shops in quaint Milton, before arriving in Ulladulla. Visit Murramarang National Park - South of Ulladulla - with the back drop of Pigeon House Mountain. Check out the surfing kangaroos at Pebbly Beach before driving to Batemans Bay where you can enjoy the local seafood at one of the restaurants and cafes with stunning waterfront locations. Continue on to the nearby Nelligen Honey Cellars for a range of honeys or take a cruise up to Nelligen. Continue on to the gold-rush village of Mogo - who’s miners’ cottages now house art, craft, antiques, jewellery, leather, and delicious treats, before heading to Moruya where arts and crafts go hand in hand with the lifestyle of the district. DAY 3 MORUYA TO BEGA ( 120KMS / 1 HOUR 15 MINS)
Travel through Narooma and onto the National Trust village of Central Tilba, which features excellent arts and crafts, the century old ABC Cheese Factory, Tilba Bakery and ‘Foxgloves Spires’ - the award winning garden at Tilba Tilba. Head for the Bega Family Museum which houses history of the district’s pioneering days, try the specialty cheeses at the Bega Cheese Heritage Centre and take a trip up the road to Grevillea Estate Winery to sample the crisp Chardonnays and summer reds. DAY 4 BEGA TO LAKES ENTRANCE (301KMS / 3 HOUR 15 MINS)
Merimbula has something for everyone including the Old School Museum, casting your fishing line at Back Lagoon, Middle Beach, Short Point, Merimbula Point and the Merimbula Lake, or indulging in the styles and flavours created by the local restaurants. Move on to Eden for some not-to-be-missed whale-watching during October and November, or a cruise around Twofold Bay. Visit the Eden Killer Whale Museum and the old Davidson Whaling Station at Kiah’s Inlet. Head to the Ben Boyd National Park which covers two stretches of coastline north and south of Eden and offers wonderful coastal walks and secluded beaches. Leaving Eden, make sure you stop at Boydtown, on the shores of Twofold Bay, which was the site of Ben Boyd’s 1840s whaling town. The route leads on to Lakes Entrance where, as the name suggests, the Gippsland Lakes meet the sea. Cast a line at ocean beaches, rivers and public jetties, or let someone else do the hard work and buy fresh seafood when the daily catch arrives on trawlers, or enjoy a meal at local restaurants where that fresh seafood is always on the menu. Lakes Entrance is located on one of Victoria’s most remarkable beaches - the Ninety Mile Beach - which stretches as far west as Yarram. Head to this long stretch of sand to find a secluded spot, or the patrolled swimming and a range of water activities around tourist centres. Overnight Lakes Entrance

DAY 5 LAKES ENTRANCE TO MIRBOO NORTH ( 202KMS / 2 HOUR 30 MINS)
Wilsons Promontory is one of the nation’s most picturesque national parks and the southernmost tip of the Australian mainland. Follow one of the many walking tracks through eucalypt forests and wildflowers to secluded coves, stunning white sand beaches and granite mountains. The underwater scenery is just as spectacular, with huge granite formations set among multi-hued seaweed and colourful fish. Set up camp at Tidal River, where there are cabins, toilets, showers and a visitor centre, or at one of the remote sites located throughout the national park. DAY 6 MIRBOO NORTH TO COWES, PHILLIP ISLAND ( 108KMS / 1 HOUR 40 MINS)
A favourite destination for lovers of Australian wildlife, Phillip Island is home to the Little Penguins that parade up Summerland Beach each night, Australian fur seals cavorting around the Nobbies and a large population of koalas that can be viewed at close range. Explore tranquil wetlands and the imposing granite cliffs and golden beaches of Cape Woolamai, breeding ground of the short-tailed shearwater. Waves roll in on one side of the island, while the other side offers protected bay beaches that suited water sports of all sorts. Overnight Cowes

DAY 7 COWES, PHILLIP ISLAND TO MELBOURNE ( 139KMS / 2 HOURS)
Continue on to Melbourne, Victoria’s capital and Australia’s second largest city.
