Oakhampton Homestead is 23km north of Manilla and 64km from Tamworth, approximately midway between Sydney and Brisbane in the New England region. The property has been in the Nixon family since it was pioneered in the 1800's.

On the property there are Hereford cattle, Merino sheep and horses. The homestead was built in two parts, with the older being built about 1876 and the new part in 1938.

The shearing shed is one of the largest in the district and there are large areas of untouched country where kangaroos abound.

There is a large garden with a tennis court, swimming pool, billiard room and horse riding is an optional extra.

The horse riding activities available at Oakhampton Homestead are simply outstanding. We have great mounts, wonderful topography and scenery which will make your spirits soar.

Lake and farm dam fishing are each on offer.

Shearing, milking, feeding animals or just exploring the property's 4000 acres.

Guests have free use of our tennis court and this includes the loan of rackets and balls if required.

Many bird species to be found on Oakhampton and around the Manilla district.

You're welcome to frolic in our own private swimming pool. Alternatively there's several dams and rivers nearby where it's pleasant to swim and use your canoe or kayak.

Homestead ensuite rooms overlooking the spacious garden and rolling hills. Self contained cabins, cottages and a deluxe apartment are also available.

Guest bedrooms are in the eastern wing of Oakhampton Homestead. All are large and spacious with high ceilings and ample hanging space. Guest bedrooms are conveniently located with easy access to the breakfast room, main dining room and guest lounge.

You have the option of choosing a "full board" package which includes all meals or you can book in for dinner on a casual basis.

Transfers from Manilla or Tamworth are available.
